So true, purple is the new ‘red’ when it comes to coloring hair now. Purple on dark hair base looks awesome. It can render the punk or the subtle hair colored look too.

Coloring one’s hair has evolved over the years, it’s like the hippies knew exactly what they were doing when they dyed their hair strands in crazy, hip hues.Hair color was once looked upon as a dangerous method of introducing healthy or already damaged hair, to chemicals that were harsh and questionable in nature. Today, we have all sorts of safe alternatives that one can turn to, where consumer-conscious companies now strive to manufacture quality products. Salons, drugstores, and malls, are stocked to the ceiling with all kinds of hair-dye brands that promise to give your hair not just shine, bounce, and an envious texture, but lasting color.

The key is to get a good brand for hair dyeing, you will have to spend a little more but it’s worth it! Celebs as well as common people all over the world are going nuts over this eggplant purple hue. Lead singers as Katy Perry, Selena Gomez, Jessie J, and celebs like Joel Phillips, Florence Welch, and Nicole Richie were also spotted with eggplant hues.

Personally I think Katy Perry and Selena Gomez have carried it well and have flaunted it outstandingly. Different shades of purple hues are to be spotted but eggplant purple is the most popular one, as it is more rich and dark.
