PANTONE Corporation has been the unequivocal leader in color declaration for years. At long last, the word is out: Color of the Year 2014 is…RADIANT ORCHID. It’s sort of a fuchsia color, but more subtle. Radiant Orchid is springy and feminine.


You’ll find it all around you this year whether it is on ramps, accessories, apparel, shoe wear, bags, or even in interiors, it’s like a fever! Radiant orchid is a beautiful tone be it an amethyst tone or a dark plum, you can select from the tints and shades pallet and work things your way. It’s a cool hue, giving a soothing formal look.

Bags and shoes look lovely and you can pair them up with other tones too, but it can get a little tricky. Don’t go for very bright tones although orange wouldn’t look too bad if it’s paired with it.


You’ll find colored jeans and skinny jeans in all shades of purple, and they would look really chic if worn with a white crisp shirt. Jackets and scarves come in handy too. Tinted shades in purple would add a little character.
